Lynn Ruth Miller (LRM) widely acknowledged as ‘the world’s oldest comedian’, would like to invite you to her first Arts Council funded work entitled  ‘Fighting to the End’, a solo performance project on resilience and fear in older age led by 84-year old Lynn Ruth Miller. This project which is being developed with Brian Lobel, was conceived in the wake of a cancer scare and is driven by the desire to explain LRM’s unique experience of growing old. The performance explores themes of ageing, illness, resilience, mortality, ambition, invisibility, self-determination and fear in older age. 

Having previously worked as a writer and journalist for 40 years (publishing 2 novels, 2 short story collections and selling over 13,000 copies worldwide), LRM began her career as a comic at the age of 70. Now at 84 she has since created 8 full-length solo shows, spanning cabaret, burlesque, stand-up and storytelling. Shows have toured the US, UK, Europe, Mexico, Australia and Southeast Asia, receiving 4 and 5* reviews and enjoying extended runs at major venues, including Soho and Leicester Square Theatres. Awards include the Three Weeks Editor’s Award and Latest Star of Brighton (for Ageing is Amazing, 2009); Liberty Award (Dave’s Comedy Festival, 2015) and the Time Out & Soho Theatre Award (for Granny’s Gone Wild, 2013). She won Best Newcomer and Most Original Performance at the Texas International Burlesque Festival in 2012.
